The Napa Valley training facility is equipped with the latest computerized training aids, including fixed and full motion flight simulators, and a sophisticated flight operations department which maintains an airline-type dispatch control over flight procedures and provides satellite-based weather coverage. The facility, which is owned by JAL and managed by IASCO, can accommodate about 200 students. For information call 707-252-3522.

The California Highway Patrol Air Operations Unit based at Napa Valley Airport provides no-fee aviation support services to public safety agencies in the San Francisco Bay Area. This unit provides law enforcement support, search and rescue and emergency medical services in the nine Bay Area Counties. This 7,000-square-mile area includes the densely populated area surrounding the San Francisco Bay and rural terrain ranging from rolling, grass covered hills to steep, rock-covered canyons. Bordered by the Pacific Ocean, it extends inland to part of the agriculturally rich San Joaquin Valley and north into the lush wine country.
This elite Unit uses a Cessna 182S and a Cessna T206H airplanes and two Eurocopter
AS-350B3 A-Star helicopters. These aircraft are equipped with state-of-the-art communications systems allowing the flight crews to speak with nearly all public safety agencies in the Bay Area. Their navigational systems are just as state-of-the-art and allow the crews to pin-point a dispatched location using the sophisticated latitude-longitude features of this equipment. A trained paramedic is always part of the flight crew of the helicopter and it is equipped and classified as an Advance Life Support Aircraft. For information call 707-257-0103.
